Fertilizer is injected into the soil at the plants’ roots; then, the roots absorb the fertilizer’s boosted nutrients, which are designed to accelerate growth and enhance healthiness.

Benefits of Mulching

Mulch provides an organic fertilizer option as opposed to your typical chemical fertilizers though it doesn’t work as fast. Mulch is more of a regulator than a fertilizer, but through decomposition, it can provide nutrients to your plants as well.

Using wood mulch in your gardens holds many benefits; it helps regulate and retain water, allowing for more breathing room keeping soil from drying out.
Mulch is also a great option for weed control as it provides little to no room for additional plants to grow; it also provides insulation for the plants’ roots during the winter season as well as keeping them cool during summer.
Furthermore, mulch helps to moderate temperature change to keep stress levels down for the roots (even plants can have stress!).
With tree mulch being a biodegradable, organic fertilizer, it becomes food for the plant as it degrades and breaks down. Milton Lawn Care highly recommends mulching for the betterment of your garden and its plants. While it may not be able to completely replace generic fertilizers, it can most definitely serve as a welcome addition to your landscape
